CFVG and FERRANDI Paris forge a new path in international education

In 2024, Vietnam’s tourism industry recorded a breakthrough surge with 16–17 million international arrivals and over 110 million domestic travelers, contributing approximately 7.8% of GDP, according to data from the National Authority of Tourism. To meet this substantial demand, the sector currently employs around 800,000 direct workers.

According to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Viet Tien, Co-Director of CFVG Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s tourism industry is facing alarming challenges regarding workforce quality: only 45% of employees have received formal training, and among them, just 10% hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. Meanwhile, international standards require 17-18% of the workforce to possess a university-level qualification, meaning Vietnam is lacking at least 7% of high-quality personnel. The industry needs an additional 40,000 workers each year but is only able to supply nearly 20,000.

“Currently, in Vietnam, most domestic Master’s programs in Tourism and Hospitality are locally oriented. With 17 million international visitors annually, the industry needs professionals who thoroughly understand the market and possess management knowledge aligned with international standards. This compels many individuals to pursue overseas study to meet such requirements,” Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Viet Tien stated.

In the context of Vietnam’s tourism market facing a shortage of high-quality, internationally standard management personnel, CFVG-UEH has partnered with FERRANDI Paris (France) to launch the FERRANDI Paris MSc in Hospitality Management (MHM) program.

This is the first internationally affiliated Master’s program in Vietnam in Hospitality Management which is designed, implemented, and officially awarded by FERRANDI Paris (France). The program offers the opportunity to pursue world-class education in Vietnam for managers and professionals aiming to develop their careers in the rapidly growing tourism and hospitality sector.

The MHM program, delivered over 18 months across 3 semesters and totaling 60 ECTS credits, is taught entirely in English. It focuses on comprehensive knowledge in management, finance, operations, marketing, digital transformation, and innovation within the tourism-hospitality industry.

The program features a distinguished faculty from France and Vietnam, combining academic excellence with practical expertise in tourism and hospitality management. Notably, students have the opportunity to participate in a short-term study trip to France, gaining hands-on experience at FERRANDI Paris’s campus - an emblem of excellence in culinary arts and premium service management education in Europe.

Shaping a generation of Global leaders for Vietnam’s tourism and hospitality industry

The launch of the FERRANDI Paris MSc in Hospitality Management (MHM) - a joint initiative between CFVG and FERRANDI Paris, represents a timely strategic effort to address the shortage of high-level talent in Vietnam.

This program not only fills a critical gap in education but also introduces a completely new strategic mindset. Prof.Dr. Rodolphe Bardot, Academic and Master's Programs Director - FERRANDI Paris, shared the significance of this partnership:

"The launch of the FERRANDI Paris MSc in Hospitality Management in Vietnam marks a milestone for the industry. The collaboration between FERRANDI Paris and CFVG brings international academic standards and helps shape the future of the tourism and hospitality sector in the region. Vietnam is emerging as a dynamic destination in Asia, requiring management teams with global thinking and deep local insight. Through the MHM program, we aim to train a new generation of young managers capable of driving innovation and sustainable growth in the industry."
