Information for the CFVG MBA Tourism Programme 2012

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you very much for your interest in CFVG MBA for Tourism. CFVG is the first French-Vietnamese co-operative program in management education. It was founded in 1992 by an agreement between the Vietnamese government (Ministry of Education and Training) and the French government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and is operated by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) and by two Vietnamese universities: the National Economics University (NEU) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). Since 2005, CFVG is a member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and since April 2008, CFVG MBA is accredited by EPAS.

MBA in the core program of CFVG from its beginning in 1992 (other programs offered by CFVG are Master in Economics of Banking & Finance – MEBF, since 2002; Master of Marketing Sales & Services – MMSS, since 2005; and PhD, since 2010). MBA for Tourism is the MBA of CFVG with a specialization orientation in tourism, as by initiative from VISTA (Vietnam Society of Travel Agents).

Following are some key informations on the CFVG MBA as well as on the recruitment process for the CFVG MBA for Tourism this year 2012.

Degree:

The CFVG MBA degree – an internationally recognized degree delivered together by National Economics University (in Hanoi) or University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (in HCMC) and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP).

Course description

At least 50% of modules delivered by the faculty of our partner universities and "Grandes Ecoles" in France/Europe.
Length of the program: 24 months.
Course scheduling: in the evening from 18h00 to 21h00 and at the week-end. This schedule allows the students to remain in full-time employment. _
Organization of studies: Each intake is divided into groups of different size: full intake, groups of 20 students or working group of 3 to 5 persons. _
Language: English.

Conditions for admission
Candidates for the CFVG MBA national entrance examination must fulfill the following conditions:

 Bachelor degree

 Compulsory intensive course in Economics for non-economist candidates (scientists, engineers, lawyers, linguists, etc.)

 2-year experience or bachelor degree with grade at least « good »

 Good English

Tuition fees
CFVG programs are partially subsidized by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The tuition fees in 2012 are 166.137.000 VND (subject to changes of VND/USD exchange rate at the time of payment), payable in 4 installments. They cover all expenses including course material, full access to CFVG library and facilities.
Intensive course fees of 2012: 2.500.000 VND
CFVG is negotiating with SEA Bank preferential rate loans to help students to finance their studies

Application process 2012:

From February 2012 : Complete the online application on the http://ecampus.cfvg.org or http://www.cfvg.org for both intensive course and entrance examination

For non-economist candidates : the intensive course is compulsory

Application deadline : 25 April 2012 (for non-economist candidates) _ From April 27 to June 27, 2012: Intensive course in Economics
June 27, 2012 : Application deadline for all candidates, with Option 1: GMAT & Option 2: CFVG Exam
July 5, 2012 : Entrance examination
July 16 – 20, 2012 : Interview
July 22, 2012 : Admission
July 30, 2012 : Opening-ceremony
Required documents enclosed with application form :
1. A notarised copi(es) of diploma(s) from universities attended. Final – year students from universities of Economics or Management can apply, provided they receive degrees by the date of entry examination (July 5, 2012).
2. Four passport size photos (3x4 cm) of which 1 photo should be glued or attached to the first page of the application documents. Applicants must write their names and their date of born at the back of the photos.
3. For those who are working, it is necessary to have a letter of confirmation signed and sealed by directors at their places of work.
4. A notarised copy of Birth Certificate.
5. A letter of Motivation for MBA program in two languages - in Vietnamese and in English, clearly stating reasons and motives for study at the CFVG and career prospective.
6. Curriculum Vitae signed and sealed by the employer or local authorities (Sơ yếu lý lịch mẫu của Việt Nam)
7. A non-refundable application fee of 1.050.000 VND

Entrance Examination

Written tests:
 Documentation of actualities + General knowledge in Economics, Culture & Society
 Maths & Logic + English
(Subjects of past years’ exams for reference are available at CFVG’s MBA Program office - Room 105)

Interview: only for those who passed the written tests _Interview board includes 3 members :
1 CFVG’s professor, 1 National Economics University’s professor, 1 foreign manager _Interview in English
