INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Responsible Research Investment Analyst, Singapore

The role:
Responsible Research is looking for dynamic individuals to work on an exciting research internship in the field of responsible investment.

The global investment community is recognizing the importance of Environmental, Social and Governance factors on company performance. This “triple bottom line” approach looks beyond financial results and enables investors to develop a more sustainable portfolio over time.

In light of these market shifts, the Asian Sustainability Rating™ (ASR™) is being developed as an open-source benchmarking tool to provide information on a company’s Environmental, Social and Governance performance. Launched in October 2009, this rating system can be used by companies, investors, and other stakeholders. It currently covers the top 200 companies, by market capitalisation, in 10 Asian markets but will continue to expand in 2010 to include the top 500 companies in Asia Pacific.

Detailed job description:

• Conducting research on Vietnamese companies and collecting data for the development of information of the ASR™
• Analyzing and scoring companies across a range of criteria, and
• Providing strategic input into the benchmarking process.

Responsible Research is looking for individuals who have a strong interest in developing their knowledge of sustainability issues, Corporate Responsibility, and Responsible Investment, and would like to develop their career in this field. For those with a focus on more general financial investment practices this internship will give you an opportunity to enhance your understanding of the Asian marketplace.

Skills, Education and Experience desired:

• Strong research and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently, self-organise and work to tight deadlines
• Confidence using MS Excel and accessing a range of research sources on the internet, Bloomberg etc.
• Good spoken and written English
• Fluency in Vietnamese is required – candidate must be able to read news and reports of Vietnamese listed companies

Remuneration:

Remuneration for the full time role will vary, depending on experience and specific needs of the applicant.

Location:

Company is based in Singapore but potential to work elsewhere within Asia.
