The financialization of commodity markets has deeply changed the behavior of commodity prices, making them wilder and more unpredictable. Understanding this new behavior is crucial for commodity producers and users.
Steve Ohana is a professor of finance at ESCP Europe. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique, then did a Ph.D. in Finance at University Paris-Dauphine in partnership with GDF Suez in commodity risk management. His current research areas are the early detection of extreme events in financial markets and the financialization of commodity markets. He advises commodity producers, asset managers and hedge funds in their investment and risk management strategies.
In this workshop, he will provide the keys to decode the new behavior of commodity prices and design resilient hedging strategies that are immune to commodity roller-coasters. He will also present some regulation ideas to improve market efficiency and transparency.
Joining him in Hanoi will be Mr. Nguyễn Hoài Anh and Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Tú
Nguyễn Hoài Anh is the CEO of Amigo Capital – a boutique investment advisory and investment management firm. Before setting up Amigo Capital, he spent more than 10 years working in various financial markets in Vietnam and overseas. His experience ranges from sales and trading in foreign exchange and commodity to securities brokerage, investment banking and investment management.
Together with Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Tú, Head of commodity Brokerage and Exchange of Techcombank will share their viewpoints on the subject in the Vietnam’s contex
